Have you had the chance to get out and see Keanu Reeves' new movie, The Day The Earth Stood Still? If you haven't, then what are you waiting for?

He's sitting pretty at the top of the box office earnings for last weekend at $31 million.

His acting in the movie won't garner him an Oscar nod anytime soon, but it was definitely a good role for him.

Keanu stars as the alien Clatu, who comes to Earth in an ark, to be born. He grows up to adult size within hours. He befriends a scientist, Dr. Helen Benson, and her son, Jacob.

As it turns out, he comes to Earth to save the planet, from us. His plans are to destroy the human race in an effort to save Earth.

Also present is his robot defender, Gort. Gort is only activated in the presence of any immediate violence. He protects Clatu and has enough electrical charge to kill the lights in an entire city.

When an attempt to speak with our leaders fails, he decides to go through with his plans to wipe out the human race. He was only convinced otherwise after seeing that some of us have compassion for others and that we're not all violent.

So he goes back to wherever it is he came from and that's it. He changed his mind. On second thought, you might want to wait for this to come out on DVD.

Image: ScifiCool

Have you seen Bangkok Dangerous yet?

If you haven't seen this movie yet, then you might want to skip this review, because it does contain spoilers.

Bangkok Dangerous left me guessing a lot. Guessing why anyone would want to spend that $9.50 at a movie theater to see this movie.

Nicolas Cage is hot, so I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Those sexy blue eyes can be so deceptive.

He plays an assassin in Thailand who's sent there by someone to kill four important people. He enlists the help of a gopher-turned-student, Kong.

During the movie, he details the rules of being an assassin, by pretty much saying that 'you don't get involved with anyone outside of work.' While at a pharmacy, he notices this mute Thai girl, who he ends up dating. He falls for her, he kills people in front of her, end of story. Oh yeah, and he's struggling with what he does for a living, if you want to add that to the mix.

The ending what was most trivial for me. After he has opted not to kill the main target, who actually turns out to be a good person, the ending was rather stupid. He takes out himself with a shot to the head, along with a rival assassin boss.

If it sounds stupid, that's because it was. I'd much rather see him steal more cars.
