You knew this was coming down the line, didn't you?

The Miss USA Pageant people have been given the green light to go ahead and terminate Miss California Carrie Prejean's contract.

According to sources, ahem TMZ, Prejean failed to comply with her end of the contract, failing to make scheduled appearances as part of her role as Miss California.

Even though Prejean has said that this has everything to do with her views on gay marriage and the like, the pageant officials are saying just the opposite.  Officials say that the firing was based purely on her breaching the contract she had.

Miss Malibu, Tami Farrell, will take her place as Miss California.

Prejean has just notified TMZ that the pageant people tried to get her to do Playboy for $140,000 along with a spot on "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!"  She denied the measly sum to pose semi-nude.
